oh great photo.. I am struggling so hard with this first assignment.. I blame the dark and gloomy weather and kids who just won't sit still!
And oh I didn't know that PS short cut.. that will make stroking my path with my stitching brush and trying to get the exact spacing soooo much easier!

The girls are doing so well - congratulations to them both! Your photo is wonderful - I particularly like the contrast you have achieved using a black background. I haven't even thought about mine yet ....

That is a lovely photo of your daughter. You've given her a luminous appearance, too (I've been noticing this effect in a lot of photos, and I'm trying to figure out how it's achieved... maybe it's not the photograph, but the subject. Is it possible that many people just "glow"?).

Meanwhile, I am beginning to feel at a disadvantage because I don't have any (willing) people/children to practice with. I've got to find some <strike>victims</strike> subjects.

Your daughter is lovely. Being slightly desaturated gives her a very classic look against the dark background. Your shot turned out so nice. I've got to get my TTL first assignment done soon, too. :D

Thanks for the PS shortcuts! I never used shortcuts much until I began using PS (Elements) and Quark Xpress. They are SO handy and I'm always happy to learn more!

Mel, you are right! I forgot to convert it back to sRGB! It looks the same on mine, 2 looks very red and oversaturated, and Web looks slightly under-saturated, leaning toward yellow.
The lovely Angela lent me her Spyder, so I guess it is doing it's job, I just needed to convert it to sRGB, Thanks for the reminder! :-)

It is a beautiful photo!

On the callibration issue, the only real fix is a spyder or similar. A less saturated on the web compared to your screen sounds colour space related though. Do you shoot and edit in AdobeRGB? If you do you need to convert to sRGB for the web. If you don't they look washed out on the web.
I can tell you though that on my callibrated screen, in your Flickr, the one titled Quinn web actually looks fine, leaning a little into the yellow, Quinn web 2 is way over saturated, leaning red. Hope that helps.
